| Abstract | Chongqing, a mega city on the upper Yangtze River, is unfolding a series of river port expansions to make itself a more efficient transportation hub servicing China's southwest and the future Three Gorges Reservoir area. Chongqing is the biggest city in Sichuan, China's most populous province. The most imminent project is to build a single-berth container wharf and a single-berth bulk cargo wharf at the city's biggest existing cargo harbour - the Jiulongpo (Nine-Dragon Slope). |
