AbstractThis study examines the effects of firm size and capital origin upon organizational structure in Hong Kong. Data collected from 40 insurance companies are analyzed by means of t-test and multiple regression. Significant differences are shown between Chinese-owned firms and multi-national firms. It was found that firms that are larger in size have a higher degree of complexity and formalization. Furthermore, firms owned by Chinese are more centralized in decision-making.
