| Abstract | Hotel room stock in Hong Kong is set to soar. A large number of trained, skilled, dedicated and professional hoteliers will be needed in the next few years. However, according to James Lu, new chief executive of the Hong Kong Hotels Association, the hotel industry is suffering from a lack of manpower. And the shortage is made worse by retirements, resignations of experienced staff seeking promotion to hotels in China, emigration overseas and the usual industry pressure on staff. |
