AbstractRacial differences have been reported to account for the extremely low incidence of carotid and vertebral artery disease in Chinese and Japanese. There is no data on the prevalence of extracranial cerebral vascular disease (ECCVD) among Chinese patients with coronary heart disease (CAD). This is the abstract of a study which evaluates patients demographics, vascular risk factors, history of myocardial infarction, prior neurologic events, concomitant peripheral vascular disease (PVD), carotid bruits, severity of CAD and degree of left ventricular dysfunction.
