| Abstract | At present, community support for discharged mental patients and their carers is inadequate. According to the 1994/95 Rehabilitation Programme Plan Review, the estimated number of mentally ill persons in Hong Kong amounted to 882,039 in 1994 and among them, 63,424 required rehabilitation services. The needs of these people and their families have not been properly addressed and more social problems would be created. The problelms in medical rehabilitation services and social rehabilitation services are discussed in this article. |
