Abstract | When Tung Chee Hwa is sworn in as Hong Kong's chief executive on 1 July 1997, he will usher in a new generation of movers and shakers - some his own appointees, other hand-picked by Beijing. The men and one woman - as featured in this article are expected to help define Hong Kong's relationship with its new master. They are Leung Chun Ying, Henry Fok Ying Tung, Nellie Fong Wong Kut Man, Liu Zhenwu, the future commmander of Hong Kong's People's Liberation of Army, and Jiang Enzhu, China's new Foreign Affairs Office in Hong Kong. |
