Abstract | It was a singular flash of inspiration that brought designer Allan Kwan to link a simple commission to design a 'fashionable and trendy' hair salon in a two-storey space in Causeway Bay, with the 1969 movie, '2001 A Space Odyssey'. Admittedly it is not a connection that would immediately spring to mind for most people, but then Allan Kwan has a breadth of reference few interior designers could claim as a resource. The ground floor space of his salon is utilised as a cafe rather than a reception. Revenue would be generated while creating a richer experience for waiting clients and a more relaxed atmosphere. |
