| Abstract | Mainland scientists predict severe shortages in cities around China. If China is suffering from scarce water resources, it stands to reason Hong Kong will too. Hong Kong's fresh water supply agreement with China expires in 2010. A senior mechanical engineer with the Water Supplies Department (WSD) says he can only hope China signs another agreement. Despite the government's slack-jawed attitude - there are measures to be taken. |
