Abstract | Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) grants to young independent filmmakers creating low-budget art movies are helping to get projects off the ground. In 1996, three independent filmmakers producing low-budget movies have been awarded grants ranging from HK$195,000 to HK$567,250. They are all young filmmakers, namely Vincent Chui Wan-shun, Chan Kam-lok and Bryan Chang, but most have already had broad experience, and the grants will allow them to complete projects that would otherwise remain on the shelf. |
