Abstract | Over the last decade, the Hong Kong business community has earned an enviable reputation for its patronage of museums worldwide. The British Museum, the Victoria and Albert and now the Shanghai Museum, among many others, owe huge debts of gratitude to benefactors from Hong Kong. Thanks to the generosity of these people, whole galleries have been refurbished, displays revamped, new exhibits donated and historic artefacts shown for the first time. Appropriately, many of the donors' names will go down in history along with the galleries they have funded. |
