AbstractThe advertising industry has struggled to redefine itself over the two years before 1997 to meet the changing demands of doing business in Asia. This has been seen in a number of ways, including the on-going debate over fees versus commission, and the hiving off of agency media departments to form stand-alone specialist operations. The author, who set up his own agency DSChze in Hong Kong early 1996, suggests that it will be the 'New Asian Agency' which will win the day.
