| Abstract | On 19 July 1995, the date marking the first anniversary of the founding of UNICOM, GSM (golbal system for mobile communications) systems operated by UNICOM was opened to service in Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai and Guangzhou. This represents a practical move on the part of UNICOM to implement the important measures taken by central leadership and the State Council in reforming China's telecom industry. |
