| Abstract | In 1990's there are several forms of wireless telephone in the market, of which people are thinking being Personal Communication Service (PCS), such as CT2 (cordless telephone), CT2Plus, DECT (digital European cordless telephone) and DCT (digital cordless telephone). Some people think that cellular or other mobile telecommunications could be one of the approaches to PCS. Generally, these services could deliver non-tethered, high quality, fully duplex telephone. The ultimate concept of PCS is that a single telephone number will be used to reach a person regardless of whether that person is at home, at work or in between. To realize the foresaid concept, the PCS system should meet certain requirements, as listed in this article. Besides, the article also discusses the approaches to PCS and the strategy of PCS realization in China. |
