| Abstract | This article is an abstract of the address at the opening ceremony of International Conference on Information Infrastructure made by the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications Minister Wu Jichuan. In his address, he pointed out that the informatization of the national economy is an inevitable result of social and scientific progress. He said that information has already become a strategic resource and an unique factor of production for economic development. The information and communications industry is increasingly showing its muscle in driving economic and social development as it represents the emerging new locomotive of social productivity that is most vigorous and dynamic. |
