Abstract | Mobile communications started in mid-1980's in China. In January, 1984, the Shanghai Posts and Telecommunications Administration opened China's first PTT-run radio paging station. Both radio paging and cellular mobile phone services have been welcomed by broad spectrum of users from all sectors since their advent. In recent years, the mobile communications market has been gathering momentum. In planning mobile communications, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications has not only paid ample attention to areas with great demand and remarkable economic benefit, but also has taken an overall approach to ensure integrity and uniformity of networks so that less developed areas can share the social benefit modern communications means has brought. |
