| Abstract | In the Ninth Five-Year Plan period, Shaanxi province will build up a basic transmission network based on optic-fiber cable and supplemented by digital microwave system and SATCOM. Local telephone networks centered on major cities, capable of offering both urban and rural telephone services and equipped with digital transmission and switching systems will be established. TS transmission networks will continue to be built or improved. The 900M digital mobile telephone system capable of providing nation-wide roaming service will be established in the province. According to the plan, the posts and telecommunications service volume and service income in the province will reach five billion and 5.3 billion RMB yuan respectively by the year 2000. |
