| Abstract | Yixian used to be a poverty-stricken county in mountainous area of Hebei province. With the support of the county government, the county PT Office and Radio and TV Bureau joined hands in developing both rural telecommunications and cable television. In 1995, the county PT Office invested more than 15 million RMB yuan in the construction of 230 kilometers of optic-fiber cable. |
