| Abstract | The national PTA directors conference was held in Beijing. The conference maps out the targets for the Ninth Five-Year Plan period (1996-2000): by the year 2000, PT communications will basically be able to meet the need of economic and social development; a complete, unified and advanced telecom network will basically be set up; major communications capability and PT service volume will double that of 1995. The report given by Mr. Wu Jichuan, MPT Minister, concerns about the trend and major experiences of PT development in the Eighth Five-Year Plan period; major tasks for PT development in the Ninth Five-Year Plan period and work plans for 1996 and to lay a solid foundation for the fulfillment of the strategic goals in developing a cross-century PT industry. |
