| Abstract | By the end of 20th century, a highly efficient modern telecom network equipped with advanced technology and capable of providing quality services will be built in Beijing. Local telephone capacity will reach seven million lines. Telephone density will top 42.2% in the whole city and 62.6% in urban area with every households having their own telephones. Major efforts will be made to use new technology for the development of toll, mobile and data communications networks as well as synchronous digital network and support network so that more new services will be made available. |
