AbstractThe MTR's new signalling system, which can allow frequency to increase to 34 trains per hour, is nearing completion on Tsuen Wan Line. SACEM is a signalling system developed by a French consortium and has been in service in Paris since 1989 and in Mexico City since 1992. The Corporation plans to complete similar signalling works on the Island Line and Kwun Tong Line by the end of 1997 / early 1998 and remove the existing train control system by the end of 1998 to complete the project.
