| Abstract | Readmission is a common problem among geriatric patients in the acute hospital setting. The centre of study is a geriatric department within a public hospital in Hong Kong, which admits elderly patients with medical problems directly through its Accident and Emergency department according to age criteria. The aim of this survey was to study the readmission rate among unplanned admissions, the preventability of readmission, and the reasons and risk factors for readmission in a major geriatric centre in Hong Kong. |
