AbstractFew hospitals in Hong Kong have defined guidelines for resuscitation. The policy is of great importance to a geriatric department, where the overall resuscitation success rate is disappointing. The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) in London has published guidelines on the "do not resuscitate" (DNR) order. At the Prince of Wales Hospital (PWH), physicians have developed the "no crash call" (NCC) order indicating active management until arrest. At Shatin Hospital (SH), where patients are admitted clinically or transferred from PWH, geriatricians have defined a policy of active resuscitation/do not resuscitate. This study was designed to aduit this policy, and to analyse outcomes of patients from PWH catagorised as NCC.
