Abstract | In 1994, Cathay Pacific Airways appointed Fred Luk as Manager of Environmental Services. Since then he has been responsible for making Cathay one of the region's greenest airlines. Mr Luk went to work on an Environmental Management Plan, and quite soon came up with successful initiatives. Not only did he remove all doubts that Cathay may have harboured about the viability of environmental protection, he has also managed to make the airline into one of the greenest business in Hong Kong.
