| Abstract | Failure to prevent or reduce pollution will not only cost more in the long term but is also affecting the health and productivity of the present generation. Friends of the Earth (FoE) has submitted numerous position papers on policy issues ranging from traffic growth, biodiversity, conservation, sewage disposal and energy conservation, all recommending alternative policies which we consider will achieve the same ends without the same environmental damage. As it will be the people of Hong Kong who will make the concept of sustainable development work, the author has interviewed several concerned individuals who have taken the essence of it. |
