AbstractCorporations in Hong Kong, like other citizens, have been finding one important commodity increasingly expensive - health. The general cost of healthcare in the territory has escalated on the back of soaring demand, rising doctors fees, more expensive mdeicines, medical services and facilities. This trend has resulted in part from greater affluence, because Hong Kong people have higher health expectations, as well as the means to pay for more treatment. It has also been partly caused by demographics, for an ageing population has resluted in greater demand for services.
