AbstractIn September 1996, Christie's Hong Kong held a sale for 'Improtant Jewellery and Jadeite Jewellery Without Reserve', which brought in sales of more than HK$50 million. The top lot of the day was a suite of Burmese ruby and diamond jewellery which sold for just over HK$2 million. Sotheby's is expected to sell a jadeite bangle for an estimated HK$9 million. Anthony Lin is the managing director of Christie's in Hong Kong with special interests in Imperial Chinese porcelains, Buddhist sculpture and archaic jades and bronzes. He understands the trends which create the demand for what people are looking for especially in Hong Kong.
