AbstractThe lack of investment amid a changing economic scenario in China is worrying academics who are training China's hoteliers of the 21st century. Professor Qian Wei, vice president and professor at the China Tourism Institute in Beijing, says academic institutions get such a small amount that hospitality schools cannot solve the root of their financial problems. Another concern for China's academics teaching in hospitality industry is the low percentage of hotel graduates who join the industry. Because hospitality education tends to be so good, graduates can easily find well-paid jobs in other fields.
