Abstract | Otis Elevator Company introduced its integrated building transit system to Hong Kong in early September 1996, claiming this will make possible the erection of the next generation of super-tall buildings. Named Odyssey, the system will use vehicles capable of moving people not just vertically but horizontally, be it in super-tall or -wide architectural structures. Passengers will travel horizontally and vertically in the same cab commuting from remote sites, such as parking lots, to the top of any 'hyper' tall buildings. |
