| Abstract | Shanghai's Pudong district, the city's new financial, trade and commercial development district across the Huangpu River from the Bund, will see an explosion in new properties over the four years after 1996, with at least 3,773 rooms stated for completion. The huge movement of four and five-star hotels into the area is a vote of confidence that Pudong's officially-backed promise will become a reality. |
