AbstractThe mainland of China and Hong Kong have formed a solid economic and trade bond which is coexistent, reciprocal, interdependent and inseparable, with mutual benefit and common prosperity as the goal. As Hong Kong's return to the motherland becomes an imminent fact, many people in the trade and economic circle will ask whether Hong Kong can be able to have a better future or not. In order to ensure the long-term stability and prosperity of Hong Kong, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation will work with the Preliminary Committee and the Preparatory Committee of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), trying to find ways to handle the economic and trade relationship between the mainland and Hong Kong after 1997.
