| Abstract | When the Shanghai municipal government earmarked sites for the development of shopping malls on Nanjing Road in 1990, Hong Kong's Pacific Concord was one of the first developers in there. It secured a site for a 60-storey office tower and retail-cum-residential complex that will transform the landscape of the city's former French Concession on completion in 1999. The project is one of five shopping complexes the group is developing in China and which will be spun off in a new listing on the Hong Kong stock exchange in late 1996. |
