| Abstract | Asia's tallest office tower, Sky Central Plaza, is approaching completion in Tien Ho new city, Guangzhou. It will be a cool 391 metres high; that is to say a third of a mile straight up. The developers of this prestigious project are Kumagai Gumi (Hong Kong) Ltd and SMC Development (Guangzhou) Ltd. Kumagai is also the main contractor responsible for the design, builing and management of the project. Gammon Construction (China) Ltd is the management contractor in a joint venture with Kumagai. The 147,000 square metres of office space in this 80-storey giant should be available for occupation at the beginning of 1997. |
