| Abstract | Multinational oil firms are racing to cash in by establishing chains of gas stations in China. The first target for most has been the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. The pioneering zone was the first to open to foreign-invested stations. Supply of petrol has been relatively easy because of the proximity to Hong Kong. And the central government is comparatively relaxed about allowing imports into south China because of high demand caused by the region's stunning growth. |
