| Abstract | The high temperatures, hot colour selections and hi-tech fabrics which typified this season's Spring/Summer '97 Fashion Week set the tone for an optimistic sales forecast. Besides the collections of established designers, Hong Kong Fashion Week was show-casing selections of garments from 13 young designers, bringing extra colour and excitement to the shows. An array of top European labels, and representatives from the Philippines, Macau, Singapore and Taiwan had enhanced the international flavour of the event. According to Kenneth Fang of Fang Bros Ltd, the trade show had an important strategic role to play, not only linking East and West but presenting design concepts and ideas from different cultural backgrounds. |
