| Abstract | The heavy rainfall in South China represents a threat to the cotton farmers, and the flooding in the five cotton-producing provinces of the region has added further worries. Meanwhile the cotton-growing provinces in the North are suffering from a particularly dry season. Planting is reported to have been delayed by 10 days, and this may affect the quality of the crop. |
