| Abstract | This article covers the subject of varieties and forms of legal cultures and legal pluralism that are relevant to a consideration of the present and future of law in Hong Kong. The author aims to examine some aspects of the problem of the future of law in Hong Kong that have not been so fully covered. There are and will be a number of legal 'systems' in operation in Hong Kong and the author suggests that they are rather more than simply Chinese customary law, Chinese law, and common law and that it is in the plurality of legal systems and the pluralism in each such system that the hope of Hong Kong's legal system lies. |
