| Abstract | At a national accounting conference held in Beijing in November 1995, the Vice-Premier Zhu Rongji, issued a stern warning against malpractices in the accounting systems of state-run enterprises. His objectives, he stated, were to rectify all kinds of falsification, tax evasion, false accounting and other evils prevailing in state-run enterprises, and to indicate the consequences if the officials concerned continued with such practices. |
