| Abstract | On 31 December, 1984, the first chemical fibre production line started work in the newly established Yizheng Chemical Fibre Plant, producing polyester; now this plant is celebrating its tenth anniversary with an annual output of 550,000 tonnes of polyester, nearly 50% of the national total and putting this plant among the world's big five. |
