AbstractAcute myocardial infarction (AMI) is a serious manifestation of coronary artery disease, but thrombolytic therapy has revolutionized AMI treatment. Data on outcome of AMI patients in thrombolytic era in Hong Kong, however, is scarce. This article summarizes the study of 588 AMI patients admitted to coronary care unit of the Prince of Wales Hospital in January 1990-December 1994, which accounted for 90% of AMI admissions in the hospital.
