| Abstract | The United States imports of textiles and clothing rose in January-April 1995 by 13.4% over those for the same period of 1994 to 5,979 million square meters. Imports from the Far Eastern Big Four - China, Taiwan, South Korea and Hong Kong - rose only marginally to 1,530 million square meters. A pattern of advance of new suppliers at the expense of traditional suppliers thus seems well established. |
