| Abstract | The year 1995 again saw the sericulturalists destroying their mulberry plantations in face of falling prices of cocoons. The silk textile plants simply do not have the funds to buy cocoons. A report from Danyang city shows over 50% of the silk textile plants reporting losses during January-August 1995 with production stopped and additional stockpiles created. |
