| Abstract | This article gives a brief overview of the various projects already engaged and planned for the next few years. It is significant of the importance attached by both the British and the Chinese authorities to the development of infrastructure, which is itself an indispensable condition to maintaining Hong Kong's role and prosperity. The agreements which have been reached in 1995 on the two difficult matters also signify that the fundamental objective has finally overcome the difficulties, thought by some to be insurmountable. |
