AbstractThe efforts to control the output of cotton yarn in 1994 showed good result. At the National Cotton Conference in August 1994, officials from the State Economic & Trading Commission and the China National Textile Council decided to limit the 1994 total output to 24,980,000 bales, and directives went out to all regions to this effect. After concerted efforts by all cotton mills, actual output of cotton yarn during August-December stood at 9,362,000 bales, still 109% of the target quantity.
