| Abstract | China plans to produce 2.65 million tonnes chemical fibre in 1995 and 3 million tonnes in the year 2000, following the expansion of several of its major plants, says the China National Council of Textile Industry. China now has 444 chemical fibre plants, of which 314 are small ones with an annual production capacity of less than 5,000 tonnes. Only two have annual capacities of over 200,000 tonnes. |
