| Abstract | Mainland-born David Cheung came to Hong Kong in 1976, well versed in farming and Peking Opera but with a total of only HK$10 in his pocket. Cheung worked first as a clothing whole-sale assistant, then as a pedlar of house-hold electrical appliances, followed by a spell as a cash-register salesman - and turned down two promotion offers in the process. |
