| Abstract | It's no wonder Foster's is scrambling to pump up its profile in China. Despite pulling in profit of A$279 million in 1993 against turnover of A$7.5 billion, the brewer's operations in Canada and Britain are in an earnings downturn. Analysts are forecasting a gloomy picture for 1994 too, with total group earnings growth of just 14 per cent. To recover from the earnings hangover, Foster's is pinning its hopes of long-term growth on the mainland market. |
