| Abstract | Reports from China indicate that the Ministry of Public Security has launched a clamp-down on illegal production and sale of police uniforms, insignia and other paraphernalia as part of the currnet campaign to combat counterfeiting. The apparent loopholes in rules and reglations governing the manufacture and distribution of uniforms and insignia of officers of the law underscore the confusion and day-to-day ordeals a society passing form an authoritarian system to one governed by the rule of law must contend with. |
