| Abstract | Unlike its 145-year-old rival Reuters, the 15-year-old Bloomberg wire service can still only be termed fledgling. Despite its youth, it is perceived by a growing number of observers as a more attractive alternative to Reuters and the other big player, Dow Jones Telerate, in the contest to provide total financial information coverage, and part of this popularity is due to the aggressive expansionist mode in which Bloomberg has taken on the competition in recent times. |
