AbstractAn open-label cross-over trial of the treatment of perennial allergic rhinitis in a group of children based on the clinical findings, rhinitis score and mean nasal eosinophil counts is performed in Paediatric Respiratory Clinic, Kwong Wah Hospital. Its objective is to compare the efficacy, safety and patient preference of aqueous budesonide (BUD) with aqueous fluticasone propionate (FP) in the treatment of paediatric perennial allergic rhinitis. It is found that both BUD & FP are equally effective in the treatment of perennial allergic rhinitis in children. The possibility of adrenal suppression in those patients who are also on oral inhalational steroid should be borne in mind.
