| Abstract | The relevant government departments appear to have neglected a fundamental factor in the labour market - the presence of a sizeable number of migrant workers such as foreign domestic helpers - when introducing these improvements. The proposals neglect to distinguish migrant contract workers from local workers. This oversight has far-reaching negative effects on society as a whole, as well as employers and foreign domestic helpers in this particular migrant labour sector. |
